How is VDI Blaster™ installed, and how does it work?

An installer is provided that configures the PC in dual boot mode, with the default mode being the thin client mode.

What servers/connection brokers are supported in VDI Blaster™?

• Includes VMware View, Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp, and Microsoft Remote Desktop clients.
• Includes Firefox Web Browser to connect to web applications. Supports “Kiosk” mode.

Will VDI Blaster™ overwrite my hard drive?

No, the current version of VDI Blaster™ keeps the original operating system intact and it is possible to boot back into Windows if desired.

What hardware do I need to install VDI Blaster™?

Devon IT recommends using a PC with a processor running at least at 1Ghz. For best results the PC should also have at least 512MB of RAM. The PC need to run Windows XP and be formatted with NTFS.

What does “no built-in persistence” mean?

This means that any changes made on the desktop unit will not be saved after a reboot. Any changes that need to be made permanent (configuration settings, established sessions) will need to be made through the Thin Client Management Software centralized management console.
